Just a reminder that a note was sent home today from the office about information about SNOW DAYS.

Note – If a snow day falls on a Wednesday, NO PIZZA WILL BE PROVIDED!! It will be rescheduled to another day. You will need to supply a lunch for your child that day instead.

We are wrapping up our science unit and presenting our PLANT (Grade 3) or CREATURE (Grade 4) to the class starting tomorrow in Language Arts. Here is a copy of the rubric that I will use to mark your child on. Oral Presentation Rubric

On Friday, we reviewed the rubric and explained it in more “Kid Friendly” terms. Students have had a chance to practice in class on Friday and today and they can also practice at home tonight if they want. Please make sure that they bring back their PLANT or CREATURE tomorrow as we will be starting our presentations.

Today, instead of science we started our new SOCIAL STUDIES units! The Grade 3’s will be learning about Early Settlers in Canada and the Grade 4’s will be learning about Early Civilizations around the world. Stay tuned for links on the blog to support your child’s learning in these new units.

Just a reminder that WEJ is collecting new and gentle used mittens, hats and scarves for the Snowsuit Fund! We are displaying all of the items in the front foyer so be sure to check them out when you come in the front doors of WEJ. So far, our class has brought in 6 items! Lets see if we can bring in more items and help people in our community stay warm this winter season! Also, the class who brings in the most items gets a hot chocolate party! We have until Monday, December 18th to bring in any items.
