Today in math we did a practice math quiz. Students are working on representing numbers is different ways like standard form, expanded form, words and with base ten blocks.
The quiz was out of 15 marks and included a short word problem as well where students had to practice their math communication skills and explain how they got to their answer using words, numbers or pictures. Examples were also provided for students to follow for each question.
The quizzes will be coming home tonight with a mark on them. Please sign your child’s practice quiz and send it back to school so they can earn $200. We will be having the real quiz this Thursday, November 7th. There will not be examples put on this quiz for students to follow so they will need to recognize what each question is asking. The practice quiz gives each student an opportunity to see if there is any concepts that they need to work on. I also hope this helps parents to help out their child before
