Science – Structures – More CUE CARD TOWERS!!

Ever since we made Cue Card Towers in our class for our science unit on Structures, students have been interested in trying to build a taller and more stable tower. Due to the cold weather, we have had a lot of indoor recesses lately which has been great for students looking to practice their cue card tower building skills!

Here are a few more pictures of students building cue card towers at indoor recess and at home! If you build a tower at home, measure it and let me know how tall it is  – you can even take a picture of it and email it to me and I will put it up on the blog!!

This is the first year we have had so many winners in our class!! If your child won, you should have received a letter in the mail notifying you that your child won and with details about the awards ceremony – I asked the class if anyone got a letter and no one said they did so I’m not sure what happened this year…so check your mail if your child is a winner and the letter might be there waiting for you!!

All winners are invited to attend an official awards ceremony this coming Sunday, January 18th at 4:30 pm at the Royal Canadian Legion – Branch 638 – located at 70 Hines Road in Kanata.

All first place winners have been forwarded to the Zone level for further assessment and potentially additional prizes may be awarded to those individuals.

I will be attending the ceremony so if you and your child cannot make it, just let me know and I can pick up their certificate and prize money!!

THANKS!

Ms. Argue 😀
