A look ahead this week!

A look ahead this week:

In Language Arts, we are going to writing a movie review on the movie WALLE that we watched in class on Friday. Students have to write a short synopsis of the movie (without giving away the ending) and also talk about elements of the movie (animated graphics, music in the backgraound, special effects) and how they added or took away from the whole movie experience. Students will also talk about their favourite character and why they enjoyed this character. We will be completing this movie review in class 🙂

NOTE – If your child was not at school on Friday, please discuss with them at home a movie that they have watched recently and that they have enough ideas on to write a movie review on instead.

Wednesday

Students will be helping Ms. JoAnne’s SK class make and decorate gingerbread houses made from graham crackers. Students in our class will also be building and creating a gingerbread house to take home. We are asking students to bring in candy to help decorate their houses (a note was printed off and put in your child’s agenda last week). Remember to send in peanut free candy like skittles or smarties (more examples on the sheet that was sent home). We are also looking for donations of graham crackers as well 🙂

Thursday

GIFT EXCHANGE! It is tradition in Miss Argue’s class that we complete a gift exchange on the last day of school before the winter holiday break. Students are asked to bring in a wrapped gift that is gender neutral that is no more than $5. Some ideas are: $5 gift card to somewhere (Chapters, Dairy Queen) or items from the dollar store (mechanical pencils, cool notebook, markers, neat erasers or candy). Students will be picking numbers and opening up gifts the last 2 periods of the day on Thursday.

THANKS!

Miss Argue 🙂
